Uefa has created a confederation badge, used in other continents too, for their match officials. At other confederations it could be used for 4th officials or assistant referees that don't have FIFA badges yet, but are appointed for international club qualifiers or in youth tournaments. Uefa has decided that this badge must be worn by all match officials.

ReplyDeleteIt just looks odd, especially when we are used to seeing "Referee" and "Assistant Referee" on FIFA badges.
I wonder whether other confederations (eg, AFC) will follow suit?
